Police officers have been urged to establish good relationships with the community. Minister for Defence and National Security Ratu Inoke Kubuabola says treating people with respect and dignity is the way forward for community policing. He says police cannot stop and prevent crimes alone. They need the community: “There is a quote, by a Police Chief in England many many years ago. He said, “Police is the people. People is the police.” So, working together with the community is very important.” Kubuabola says he is overwhelmed by the Community Policing initiative that he wants to be a champion for the cause.
